A 31 year old man from Gondo village under headman Madamombe has recently been brought before the court facing accusations of attempted murder.

Representing the state, Esther Mujakachi told the court that on the 13^th of May 2015 at around 2300hrs the complainant Bright Matangamberi (20) was drinking beer at Mabiza bottle store at Chitowa business centre in Chivi, in company of Manford Mapanzure.

A misunderstanding then rose between the accused and Manford, the complainant was not involved. Manford then ran away and the accused chased him but failed to catch up with him.

After failing to get hold of Manford, Thomas returned to the bottle store where the complainant was and stabbed him once with a knife on the right side of his chest alleging that he was in company of Manford who had ran away.

The complainant sustained a cut on the chest due to the assault and is currently admitted at Chivi General Hospital.

The accused has been remanded in custody pending further investigation.
